Best of all Pretty Penny and The Parlour are hoping to make this a reoccurring event!

So mark your calendars and come see how talented your neighbors really are!  There will be good music and FREE libations!!

When:  Saturday July 25th  11am - 7pm

ABCO craft fair!

This saturday, ABCO Art Space is hosting the start of a series of crafty shows. The event will featuring local artists from around the bay area. Shoppers will find clothing from local designers, hand made belt buckles, hair accessories, organic body products, ceramics, original artwork, organic coffee, and so much more. There will also be live music, DJ's, Food and Beverages.

The idea was first explored last November by ABCO's founder and director, Barry Monigle. With no place for artists to gather and sell their wares, Monigle stepped in to offer up the expansive amount of space that ABCO has to offer for an event like this. With a huge outside area, a large indoor gallery and an expansive warehouse to spread the event through, it is an ideal location for a craft fair.

When:  saturday June 6th  12pm - 8pm

Men need style too!

Indie Industries just opened up their second San Francisco location and it's all about the men, bringing locally designed fashion to all those style conscious boys of the mission district!

We are always excited to hear about new venues and boutiques that connect local artists and their community.  Especially during this economic hardship, we really need to see a growing support of all things local.  But really above all, we need to see a growing awareness in the power of our consumption.  Where we spend our money has more influence then people seem to realize, so wake up and start spending local!  When you spend your money in local stores, on average it has 3 times the monetary impact on the community when compared to a national chain store.  Not only that but local stores provide more competition, innovation and diversity.  Ok. Ok.  We will step down from our soapbox but for those intrigued, we have linked some additional reading material below...

Organic Consumers Association:  "Why Consumers Should Support Local Independent Businesses"

Trade Local,  "Why Should You Support Local Business?"

Pledge Handmade

Now that we have you all pumped to shop local, come show Indie Industries some support at their Launch Party this Saturday.  Check out the store and ladies who fear they won't have anything to fuss over, no need to fret, there will be tons of locally designed accessories!

Where:  Studio 3579 @  499 Dolores · SF, CA · 415.626.2533
