Friends of Imaginary Friends

Hotel Biron, a sweet little wine bar/gallery, will be hosting a fantastic exhibit of artist Tara Knutson's wire sculptures.  We are loving no only the art up the exhibition title!!  So stop on by and take in some art with a glass of wine in hand!

Cutter Photozine Issue 2: Leaving a Mark

Help Cutter Photozine celebrate the release of there second issue at SF Camerawork Gallery.  Cutter Photozine is a Bay Area-based documentary photo magazine dedicated to featuring people telling their own stories and documenting their own existence. You've Got Light in Your Eyes

For the last two years Boston's Meighan O’Toole has been blogging about contemporary art that she's passionate about. Over the course of that time, from her site, My Love For You Is A Stampede of Horses, she's interviewed, posted about, and reviewed a countless range of amazing exhibitions and a plethora of artists from around the globe.

YOU'VE GOT LIGHT IN YOUR EYES, O'Toole's first foray into curating a physical art exhibition. The show is a stellar assemblage of some of her favorite artists that have been featured on the site. Swarm Intelligence

Million Fishes, a live/work collective & gallery based in the mission, is having their bi-annual group show.  For the exhibit resident artists were asked to demonstrate the process of Swarm Intelligence. Swarm Intelligence is typically considered to be a population of simple agents interacting locally with one another and their environment. These agents follow very simple rules/commands without a

"Grey Area" by UK's BOXI

If your in the LA area you are a lucky one!  Tomorrow is the opening of the first US solo show for the awesome urban artist BOXI!!  Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art presents "Grey Area", featuring spray paint on canvas and MDF, sculpture, limited edition prints and site-specific installation.   Check out some of BOXI's work below and be sure to stop by tomorrow to meet and greet with BOXI at the opening reception!

Beats and Factories and Cardboard Oh My!

Don't quite know what to do with yourself tomorrow night after work?  Well if your in Oakland it's not because of a lack of options!  Here are 3 amazingly sweet events that are sure to keep you entertained with amazing art, great music, refreshments and not a penny paid at the door...

Rock Paper Scissors Collective: Cardboard City

Through RPS's Community Collaborations Project, local artist James Ferrell has spent two month working with the disable artists at Creative Growth.  Ferrell and other RPS volunteers have worked with these artist to teach them how to take 2D drawings and turn them into 3D sculptures out of cardboard.  The works range from an oversize bust of Martin Luther King Jr. to a hybrid flower-satellite and will be available for sale, with proceeds going to the artists directly and funding future Community Collaborations.

The fifth edition of the amazingly compelling festival, The Influencers, is just around the corner for all of those lucky enough to be in lovely Barcelona.  This festival is a major highlight for street art loving aficionados, hosting artists that have had a positive impact in this growing scene.

This year is not one to miss, with the likes of Blu, Improv Everywhere, Swoon, Wolfgang Staehle and more....  But the best part and reason we are soo bummed to not be joining in the fun are the workshops with Improv Everywhere on friday afternoon!!  If you get the chance to go we are officially jealous but will accept photos as a form of apology!  Enjoy!
