Swarm Intelligence

Million Fishes, a live/work collective & gallery based in the mission, is having their bi-annual group show.  For the exhibit resident artists were asked to demonstrate the process of Swarm Intelligence. Swarm Intelligence is typically considered to be a population of simple agents interacting locally with one another and their environment. These agents follow very simple rules/commands without a

centralized control structure dictating how each individual agents should behave.  The interactions between such agents lead to the emergence of "intelligent" global behavior. Some natural examples of swarm intelligence include ant colonies, bird flocking, animal herding, bacterial growth, and fish schooling.
